Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White proved last season that he can be the successor of Josh Jacobs. The Raiders should, however, also consider adding a running back prospect who can either compete against White or share reps with him as his partner in the run game.

Enter former Tennessee running back Jaylen Wright, one of the top running backs from the 2023 college football season.

Wright was also one of the best running backs at this year’s NFL Combine. He received an athleticism score of 93 from NFL Next Gen Stats, the second-best score among running backs. He also received a total score of 79, the fourth-best among running backs, and a production score of 68, the 11th-best among running backs.

The prospect recorded a 40-yard dash time of 4.38 seconds, a 10-yard split time of 1.55 seconds, a vertical jump of 38 inches, and a broad jump of 11 feet-2 inches. Wright’s 40-yard dash time was the second-fastest among running backs.

In his final season with the Volunteers, Wright led Tennessee with 1,013 yards while posting four rushing touchdowns, and 141 receiving yards in 12 starts. He also led all running backs in the nation in yards per carry at 7.39 (minimum of 120 attempts).

Wright earned All-SEC Second Team honors from the Associated Press and was named a semifinalist for the Doak Walker Award.

Pro Football Focus gave Wright an overall grade of 91.0 for his 2023 campaign.

Wright also led the Volunteers in rushing the year before, tallying 875 yards and 10 touchdowns.

The young running back ultimately played three seasons for Tennessee, appearing in 34 games.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently have the No. 13 overall pick.
